Wild Flowers Of Strathclyde Park

Crocus
Crocus vernus
of the Iris family
a perennial
10-20 cm high
blooms January-March
likes grassland and open woodland
can be seen in the wooded area adjacent to the Visitor Centre.

I suspect the crocus in the area listed above are a garden variety planted by the Park Rangers. Nonetheless they are a beautiful sight to behold on a bright winter's morning
